Back at you with another of Halo Top's newest flavor creations: Pancakes and Waffles.
This is one of their more obscure flavors, as it is not a flavor one typically thinks of when they think about ice cream. All I know is that this flavor makes me feel a little less of a horrible person for eating ice cream for breakfast. (But let's be honest, ice cream for breakfast is what adulting is all about). Pancakes & Waffles has a maple-based ice cream, with a maple-syrup swirl and waffle cone chunks.
I'll admit, the maple flavor is quite powerful here, so you have to be a fan to really enjoy the whole pint. However, the further into the pint I got, the better the overall taste became. My last few bites were actually the best. The other positive, was that the flavor never became dull. Sometimes, when eating a whole pint of ice cream, the flavor can be lost on you part way through. That was not the case here, as every bite was as maple-y as the last.
The maple syrup swirls added a nice touch, and, similar to the Candy Bar flavor, the waffle cone chunks were more plentiful than in previous Halo Top flavors. However, I would've hoped the waffle cone pieces carried more of a crunch than they did. I also would've liked to see more swirls, but I don't believe this to have negatively impacted my experience at all. (I'm just greedy).

All in all, this pint lived up to the name. It tasted like breakfast.
The consistency was also on par with previous favorites Sea Salt Caramel and Candy Bar--creamy and delicious. I also noticed this pint didn't have to sit at room temperature for nearly as long before it was primed for eating--another plus because I hate waiting to eat ice cream. Save that nonsense for chicken or some shit.
I will say this is likely to be the best tasting of the under 300 calorie flavors, coming in at 280cal per pint.
Overall score: 9/10 - worth trying, especially for breakfast.
If you're familiar with the 1-10 attractiveness ranking system for men and women, you may have heard there is no such thing as a perfect ten--only a nine that satisfies a niche. That could ring true here. If you have a thing for pancakes, waffles, maple syrup, or that feel-good breakfast feeling, then this might oust Candy Bar as the #1 flavor.
